Penumbra: Overture Not Working on Windows XP

I got the Penumbra:Collection on Steam (Along with Amnesia) And overture does not seem to want to work. It will go to the main menu, play all the sound right, I click new game and watch the opening cinematic. Then that ends and it says loading (sometimes) then the screen goes dark and sometimes sound will continue and then sometimes it's just silent but the game never actually starts. Help? I've tried verifying the files, defragmenting the drive it is saved on. Anything please? I would really appreciate it.

Have you tried updating the drivers for the graphics card? Preferably by uninstalling the current driver, rebooting and then installing the new driver to ensure all files are replaced properly.

1. Is it a laptop or a desktop? If a laptop, what model?
2. What graphics card do you have(go to start>run and type dxdiag to check that)?

2.I don't really know. I did as you told and the little directory popped up but I didn't know what to do exactly.

jens:No, I haven't tried updating the graphics cards. Sounding very idiotic here, I don't know how to go about that. I don't want to damage my computer because of my own idiocracy.

At dxdiag go to the second tab names Screen (after system). What does it say after Name? Take a pic if you still do not understand.

That chipset is unfortunately below requierments to run the game, it is not possible to get it working on this computer.
