Penumbra problem

After the introduction (exactly after he opens the metallic hatch) it says loading and then a box appears saying 'Penumbra has encountered a problem and needs to close. If you were in the middle of ...(you know the rest)' What is causing these problems?

Is this the full game or the demo? is it when you enter the outside/snow level or is it after opening the hatch in that level and the next level is loading?

If the demo get the update from the support, if the full game get the update from the support.
