RE: Vincent - Total Conversion Mod

I'm just trying to figure out what things the total conversion thing can bring to the table; if it's just lantern, some effects and a main menu; or something else that can only be done for a total conversion, something that makes it worthwhile and reasonable for a CS to be converted into one as kman said. Just curious as to what things can be achieved.

I can appreciate that you want to make new environments to deviate from Amnesia's original ones, but if you don't have the modeling skills to back that up and make something that looks good players are just going to respond poorly and never get immersed in the environment.

Stick to a story that can be done with the stock Amnesia assets, or (learn to?) make your own.
I am not finished with the room, this is only after about 20 minutes because I have been mostly working with the radio. Can't some of you guys be patient enough it has only been about one day.

Gee, sorry for judging what was shown?

Why start a thread if nothing you have is finished enough to show anyway?

Uh that's kind of you're problem, why are you showing off an unfinished level what you spent 20 minutes on.

Also I love how some kid made a thread about how he is working on a custom story and you guys just start having an argument on whether total conversions are worth it or not, I mean damn.

Yeah, that's right, just eat the misery away XD jk kman, you know I love you like a fat kid loves cake.

But yes, some of the thing he has said kinda bothers me too. I have seen flashlights added to a campaign that still looks like it's back in the 1800's... It kinda bothers me because it doesn't fit. HOWEVER KMAN, His story is based around a police officer, so it wouldn't make sense to have the officer use a lantern, right? Yes, it's one thing, but it is a bit more necessary in this situation than the story I had seen beforehand.

Keep going on the full conversion. And is there a way you could post some of the details as to WHY you have it as a FC? Perhaps satisfy the needs of those who do not know, as well as myself.

I was asking either tan or kman what other things you can do in a total (or full) conversion. Since this is a Total conversion, I would assume this would have some relevance. Derp.

RE: Vincent - Total Conversion Mod

Guys, just stop arguing. Yes, the main reason this is a full conversion so I can have a flashlight with sounds and everything. I mean for damn sake, YOU ARE A POLICE OFFICER!!! Maybe if I was any good in modeling which I'm having trouble with, there would be more to the reason. I am 13. I am learning, if any of you are going to put me down on how it's not La Caza with a damn panther, then just gtfo of my thread. Jesus!

No one here is arguing (at least I don't think anyone is). But since it's your thread I will stop posting here.

Alright guys, so I'm having trouble. Since the first map is the inside of a police department, anyone have any ideas what it should look like, cause apparently the one I started working on sucked.

Perhaps import some Penumbra textures? They're modern.

RE: Vincent - Total Conversion Mod

I've learned over time that making textures literally takes like a minute (aside from bump maps and all that stuff). I'd recomend just finding pictures online and turning them into textures, since I don't think any one has made (or released atleast) a texture that would fit a police station.
