attaching an entity to a surface

so i have this huge library and all of the books are out of place and i want them to all sit on the shelves but there is like around a couple hundred books to place and i really cant be screwed to make sure each and everyone of them is perfect so is there like an easy of attaching them to the shelves or do i have to do the long and boring way?

Click "create on surface" or something and move the mouse over the shelves. You can then place a book_row object one at a time on the shelves. About 3-4 will fill up on shelf.

Repeat like 3 times for 3 shelves, then select all of them, turn off grid snapping, copy them, and move the copied 3 shelves on to the next shelves. Rinse and repeat for every shelf. Should take about 5 minutes to fill one room of 5-6 bookcases.
