The folklore can't be the only source they're using - it's far too like amnesia -even in the lighting style- to not be inspired at least in part by it.
I read a while back about it on steam's Rock, Paper, Shotgun. They of course compared it to amnesia, so that's where I'll always assume they took influence. Biased but oh well.
If you can find the time, mind finding the article? I'm pretty bad at finding things on the internet, had a try myself.
np, just google anna FPS XD

here ya go

Cheers, nothing from developers about it being inspired by amnesia, but at least I'm not alone in my opinion. Good read Smile

Yea my bad, I intended "they" to mean the writers of the article, not developers Smile

Fair enough. Looking quite forward to this - it'll be interesting to see how they do the scares as compared to amnesia.

I saw a thread about this about a month ago on the forums... Good to see people here are still trying to get it noticed Smile

Yea I don't browse these forums enough (If I'm not on steam's news, I'm on Diablo 3's forum), but I never saw a thread on here so I put one just in case.

P.S. it's about music that anyone who has been to the Anna blog has seen, but Steam is trying to keep up on it, this thread came out today.

Edit: The articles on steam's news are still including Anna in their updates, is probably a more accurate way of saying the previous statement.

Sorry to sound like a fan boy but I like Penumbra a lot... it beats Amnesia any day. I don't know about you but I do not really like playing as a psychopath who has a heart attack every time he is in a dark spot -.-.

EDIT: Taking a closer look at it... I would say they were definitely inspired by Penumbra...

@OP When is this going to be released?

Their FaceBook says May 2012. That's as specified as they get.
