[Storage] How to block that door?

Hi,

I started the game few days ago and I'm stuck for the first time. I search for two hours now and still can't find how to solve this conundrum.

Once I get into the storage room (right after I found the key to unlock the door in the scientist's room), the guy says that I should block the door to avoid any dog attack.

I tried to put few barrels against the door, even some rocks and planks. But well, I have to deal with Superman's dog since he's able to destroy the whole door with barrels etc.

I also tried to kill that monster like 10 times. I just can't handle it, even after my readings about "how to kill those damn dogs".

Please, could you give me a hint to block the door?

I am afraid that dog always gets through no matter what. You need use stealth skillz.

Piling stuff up just keeps the door from swinging open by itself.
To keep the dog out you must stay unnoticed. Once you get the dog's attention, it will break your barrier.

Actually the dog breaking through the 1st door is a scripted event. Once you barricade the door you could always hind in the shadows, without your glowstick or flashlight lit. If that doesn't work for ya', you could just do that cheap method of killing it by getting on a box and crouching down.

This puzzled me for a second. I think you mean, it's you saying that to yourself; thinking.

Are you sure about that? I haven'T played Penumbra for quite a while now, but I' pretty certain the dog only broke down the barrier when it noticed me, and not when I stayed down and away from the door.

Yes, he broke the door while I was hidden near the TNT keg, without any light.

Anyway, I passed this area with my stealth abilities as you adviced me.
