Solved: 8 Years, 1 Month ago no games of Penumbra: Collection work

Hello everybody,
Maybe my request is simple for people but I am... new in Linux world.

I downloaded Ubuntu 12.04 LTS x64 and I bought Penumbra: Collection.

I installed it correctly (I think) and when I want to lauch one of the three games, nothing happen.
I also bought Amnesia but this one work correctly on my Linux.

So at start, what should I do ? Undecided
Thank you all to answer my request and have a nice day !! Rolleyes

Hidden in your home there is a .frictionalgames folder, if you navigate down into it you should find a penumbra directory and in it a hpl.log file, please post the log file here as it might give a clue on what goes wrong.

Well... I am looking for the file you asked me to give you but I can't put a hand on it.
I know I installed Penumbra in /home/myname then I have a new folder called "PenumbraCollection"
but once inside, I watched everywhere but I can't find hpl.log

I think I know why I can't find hpl.log, it must be because I never been able to launch just ONCE the game so it looks like something missing to launch the game.

Make sure that you enable so that hidden files (files/folders beginning with .) are visible in the file browser.

Ok I found what you were talking about
on Ubuntu, to display hidden folders and files, I must press ctrl+h (h like hidden)
So I found .frictionalgames but inside, I have only "Amnesia" and "HPL2"
I also found the hpl.log of Amnesia in Amnesia's folder but there is no Penumbra anywhere in that hidden folder

Like if it never been created because it never been launched (because I really can't launch it)

Do you have the 32bit libraries installed?? (ia32libs or something like that) Penumbra is a 32bit game and requires you have the 32bit libs installed on a 64bit linux system.

OMG YES !!! Heart

It's exactly that, thank you so much !!!

it's exactly ia32-libs missing.

So, to have it, I went to Logitech Ubuntu and just wrote ia32 and found it, then I installed it and then, I launched Penumbra Overture and TADA !!! The game works correctly, exactly like with Windows
THAAAAAAAAANKS !!! Smile
