Crashes trying to access in-game menu

Hello everyone
I've read the troubleshooting and it helped me to fix some problems but not this one.


I've been trying to make this game work properly for the last 3 hours but nothing worked.

It runs now, and doesn't even lag, but

at the very first minutes of the game, when you take control of the character, (basically when the game tells me to press M to access to the "mementos") it crashes, and it crashes when I press M, or J, or try to access to every in-game menu.
I have tried with the administrator-readonly thing, but still crashing.
I have tried messing with the graphic options... everything that I could find here and there surfing Google but nothing seems to work.

I have no clue what to do now.

1) Attach HPL.log found under Documents\Amnesia\Main folder
2) Update your graphics card drivers by following the sticky guides
3) What operating system do you have? Also 32-bit or 64-bit?

I have updated the drivers!
I am running on Vista 32bit

The problem are the drivers. From where did you get the game?

what drivers? i thought i had fixed them

Steam autoupdates its games so first make sure the game is updated to v1.2 which is the latest. I think the updates included fixes for old AMD cards like the X series so we need the game updated first. When you do that, run the game and reattach the file HPL.log
