Well, a first custom story doesen't make him a professional now does it? I'm sure he'll develop further on after this. Learning from your own mistakes is the best thing in my opinion.

I'm sorry but I'm sick of people using their age and "it's my first story!" as excuses for crappy quality. That's no excuse, if you really need an example look at Afraid of Monsters. That was made by a 12 year old and it was his first mod ever, and it won mod of the year the year it came out and is still commonly regarded as one of the best horror mods out there. If you need something Amnesia related, look at White Night, that was Tan's first mod and people say it's one of the best custom stories there is.

let me get this straight. IF THIS WAS his first custom story, which is isnt: "the unsubscribe killer", it does NOT justify the lack of storyline. a CS with lack of a somewhat decent storyline could mainly be classified as an unserious map, if the creator decides to release it. frankly, im SO SICK of people using an "amnesia" storyline. in "amnesia" storyline cases; and i promise you this; 95% of the cases of these stories, you never know WHAT the fuck got the character to where he started, or WHY the fuck hes there in the first place. these stories are so faked, copied and stolen from other people. stolen, as in using the same things all over again. jumpscares; keyhunts, crowbarbreaking of doors; CLIMBING THROUGH A CASUAL CAVERN OF ROCK; etc.

even though this guy puts work into his mapping (which i cannot say for sure yet, but ill take your word on it for now), it will be absolutely USELESS unless he actually makes a functional, solid "exposition", "Rising action", "Climax", "Falling action", and "resolution" type of story. those principles build up a SHORT story; and it should be in every custom story out there. making a custom story only based on scaring people without reason and without sense; would IMO be worse than not making a custom story at all.

I agree with you guys and all, but i'm just trying to be as friendly as possible with guys like him.

And yes age and "first" mod is not an excuse, i'm doing my first mod and it looks good to be honest i guess, great voices by Traggey etc.

In my opinion everything who creates something at their first mod / custom story... Somebody try somebody not and decides to ruin and rush story right away tons of cheapscares/ bad mapping, no storyline at all and finally awful experience to play that story.

Some peoples are really getting potential and starting to make really good and spend time working on it.

Simple as that, this is not cursing contest or raging. Everyone calm down, it's just a game.

What you've said, that's exactly what i'm doing.

I tested making 2 custom stories and to be honest they were SHIT.

So i started taking this more seriously, going way in-depth and hopefully create something really great, maybe not as great as White Night but maybe on a fair level of greatness?
