Solved: 8 Years, 1 Month, 4 Weeks ago Amnesia Crash

Checked everywhere, and it seems very few have my problem. I recently installed Amnesia and upon clicking to play the game I used to get an error message that said something along the lines of
"There is no disk in the drive. Pleae insert disk into drive H:\"

I checked the forums and read my hpl.log and my version said 1.1.0, so i updated my graphics card drivers (I have an ATI Radeon HD 3870 series) then restarted my computer.

After it rebooted, I thought the game would work. I clicked on Amnesia, and a different error message showed up.

I thought that there is no way my GPU could be the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks for taking your time to read my post.

Oh and my OS is Windows 8 Release Preview Evaluation copy. Build 8400.

That's probably my problem.

Creating generate module
Creating haptic module
Creating scene module

Setting video mode: 1024 x 768 - 32 bpp
Init Glew...OK
Setting up OpenGL

Now I've read on the forums about the GDI Generic and the 1.1.0 and all that blah blah blah. I've wiped my drivers clean and installed new ones and that hasn't worked.

This can also mean that OpenGL uses an integrated card instead of your proper graphics card.
--> If you have a dedicated AMD and an integrated Intel HD card go to Question 2 Notice.

Went to question 2 notice and got:

If you have a laptop with a dedicated AMD and an integrated Intel HD card then check THIS TOPIC.

That awkward moment when you have a desktop...

Aaannd now I've hit a dead end. Ive searched the internet for days and have found nothing. :/

So, I'd have to "down"grade to Windows 7? And that'll fix it?

I knew Windows 8 was a mistake.
