Improper shadows on custom model

Hey guys, so I created a very simple smeared white table:
Spoiler below!

However, it doesn't seem to be casting shadows on the floor properly. Is this because of the model? Or just because of light placement and/or the engine? I'd hate to spend time making a higher quality model only to find out it would look wierd in-game.

Also - I think the table may have a lowered opacity. Is it that amnesia does not handle opacity well with regards to custom models? For the table is clearly opaque, but maybe this has had an affect on the shadow. I'm not too certain if I did change the opacity, however.

EDIT: Actually, I'm almost certain this is 44% opacity. But I replaced it with a corrupt 100% opacity file, so I can't check.
