Intel 945GM Penumbra Overture?

Hi, I recently bought Penumbra overture thinking it would run on my old craptop but unfortunately, It crashed at the loading screen with sounds being played, I had everything on low, and the others off. Would I be able to get it to work with swift shader or 3d analyze? I also have it in compatibility mode for windows xp sp3.
Here are my PC specs

Windows Vista (SP2)
32bit OS with 1Gb ram
1.73GHz Intel processor
And of course the Intel 945GM Express Chipset.

Thanks for any replies, and If it is runnable, please tell me EXACTLY what I need to do, because I don't want to mess anything up Smile

Well that laptop is not very good at all Sad

- even if you get to the menus and lower all the settings down it probably will run unbearably slow...

I am pretty sure that your graphics supports OpenGL 1.4 when the game requires at least version 2.1 so you are screwed.... I think

Yeah, It used to be my brothers laptop which he couldn't even boot or connect to wifi, the touchpad was broken and crap like that, I managed to fix everything and can play some games.

Its a Toshiba Satellite Dual-Core btw.

What about modded drivers? or any work-around for this Tongue

It seems your Graphics Card support OpenGL version 1.4. The game needs version 2.0 of OpenGL (or higher) in order to play properly.

No, this is for Amnesia. Penumbra requires something like OpenGL 1.4 or close. Your graphics card support OpenGL 1.4 as said in Intel OpenGL support site.

Try installing the latest drivers from 2008. If it does not let you because of OEM restrictions, download the .zip version and use the have disk method (the instructions will not apply 100% to you but the proccess is pretty-much the same) to install the drivers.

No luck. Updated throught the have disk method and still crash with sound after the intro that begins with
"My story began in the year 2000" or something like that. I check task manager and it seems to be not responding after that loading screen, so any suggestions?

attach hpl.log found under Documents\Penumbra or similar after the crash occurs
