Custom content location

Hi

so far I saved my "custom" files like modified entities (enemies for example) and sounds in the same folder as the originals - like enemies/myGrunt.ent.

Where do I have to put these files for releasing my CS? If I simply put them in the CS folder they neither show in the leveleditor nor to they appear ingame.

RE: Custom content location

If your grunt.ent has the same link with the grunt.dae from the enemy folder, then you should only put the .ent, always that links the grunt mesh.

If it was a re-textured enemy or thing, or any completely custom thing then you should update the folder and put it in the CS folder.

And the level editor finds the resources everywhere except in the CS folder.

They only don't show up in the level editor when you re-open the map in a new map session and if you didn't follow step 8: http://wiki.frictionalgames.com/hpl2/amn...evenvguide

There's no reason why it wouldn't show up in game if you placed them in your custom story's folder if the map file contains those objects.

RE: Custom content location

I have a custom shelf in my CS folder and it doesn't show up in the leveleditor, but I followed step 8 in the settting-up-guide... other custom content (like white night) is showing up.

This is its path:

amnesia the dark descent\custom_stories\myStory\entities\gameplay\shelf_secret_door\shelf_secret_doorZAxis.ent

It's just the standard secret_shelf.ent (the one that slides to the side, don't knwo it's name). I just changed the movingAxis in the user defined variables in the model editor and saved it as new file.

But... does it show in game? Maybe you saved it somewhere else that your game doesn't find it.

Oh, and, Your Computer. If I have said something wrong please correct me. I don't want to say wrong things to people.

RE: Custom content location

Ok, let me get this straight;

I have to put the content in the standard content directories from amnesia to see it in the level editor and if I want to release my CS I have to put my own stuff into the CS folder?

Ok, thanks.

But why can I see the white night folder in the leveleditor?
