My WIP - Progress & stuff (Update 7.6.13 - Lobby map)

Hi everyone,

Here's some shots of a WIP of mine, set in a fantasy western world. Its still really early days and I'm still modelling a lot of stuff but I have the first map blocked in - Next is just the objects and things Smile

The pictures of the map may be too dark (?) I was using another monitor before and it looked too bright for my taste, and now with this other monitor, it looks extremely dark, almost too dark to see anything Dodgy I want it dark, but a little light in there just so the player can see where he's going at least! I tweaked the levels of a couple of pics in photoshop to make them slightly lighter, but would be great to get some feedback on this if possible!

I'll include some pics of some of the models and materials I'm making for it too, so its easier to see them.

The lantern is Mofo's Bullseye lantern btw, not my creation Smile

Wow! I love it when relatively unheard-of people come out of the woodwork with amazing stuff like this. Smile

RE: My WIP - Progress and stuff

The lighting is fine, currently, (With modifications or not) but the fog isn't consistent between objects. The closest thing I can think of are the first movies to overlay animation or 3D objects onto film and their were visible seams or the lighting is different between the two films.

The 3rd picture I think is where the most obvious effects are. The castle is like a cutout from one picture, the foreground rocks and dirt is another picture, the rock cliff on the right is another picture, and the sky is way to close to the ground. Looks like I can almost touch it from here.

The outskirts of the map look nice, gives me the feeling the world is pretty large. Can't wait to see more! Smile

Thanks for the feedback! I have to turn up the levels in photoshop to see the effects you mentioned, and then they become very prominent. My fog setup is probably all out of whack, I can see the large contrast between the rocks and beyond very clearly afterwards.

I think this could turn out as the best full conversion ever.

Definitely Smile
Obviously the game is going to be dark, but whilst the silhouettes look very tasteful it'd be great to get a little more light in the pictures that you actually present to people
