RE: My new computer

I don't want the stuff right now. I still have to save up. It'll probably take me around 5-6 months. Maybe even longer.
The thing is, they'll probably cost around 1,000 dollars. And I think that's way too much money for a video card.

RE: My new computer

The 780 costs around 640 that's why I didn't recommend it as I already said. A word of advise, don't buy the stuff one by one over a long period of time. Buy them all at the same time when you have the money and need to build the new system. This prevents:

1) Hardware getting old before even using them.
2) Losing warranty time without actually using the products.

Either GTX780 or HD7970.
You would be better of getting 3 displays if going with Nvidia as 2 way surround isn't working (they're working on it though)
Rumor has that AMD may release new cards once they fix their CF frame metering "issue"
Where did you hear that 2 way surround is not working? It works just fine. And for two displays it does not matter if you get AMD or Nvidia. Also, 2 displays already cost some money.
Nvidia forum disscusing the issues with dual Tcon monitors not being able to run 4k @ 60Hz .

4K? The monitors he is going to buy are 1080p. Noone has 4K yet, extremely expensive. In some years people will have them and till then the drivers will have been long fixed.

I know but it just comes to show that surround doesn't work with 2 monitors.
It is either Eyefinity or 3 screens.

PS: I have a 4k screen sitting right in front of me but then again I'm just an enthusiast that throws a lot of money at hardware Tongue

I'm also planning to get myself a new gaming computer for when I move, here's what I've got planned out right now.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1eSdG

CPU/Mobo: I'm not interested in overclocking
Storage: SSD for Windows, HDD for everything else

Current build:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 (4 cores, ~3.2GHz)
4GB RAM
GTX 460

RE: My new computer

First things first, for what purpose do you want the new computer? What's your price range?

RE: My new computer

What you picked is already a great list. The only small changes I would make are:

GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6814125463 (overclocked version, also gigabyte not zotac)
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6820145345 (same but blue)

Also, find a bigger power supply. Something between 550-600W should be better.

RE: My new computer

One of my best friends has been sending me links to sites of computers he wants. They're absolute scams. Trying to convince someone to build a PC is pretty hard.
