RE: Questions about AAMFP System Requirements

And to be honest I have no idea how a higher res will look on the TV (I think sharper textures?). Is there any recommended resolution for an 50 inch TV, or is the rule -if res higher it looks better, but it needs more performance)?

Urgh- sorry for the english - this grammer can't be right. Big Grin
Higher resolutions are always better but it's not always easy to run at higher than the native resolution. If the TV is 1080p then you should be running at that resolution, and the screen size makes no difference, it's the same resolution. Running at higher than 1080p would make the game sharper and get rid of more aliasing but is generally not supported by most games. You can force it in your graphics card but are still limited. I tried it once and managed to get 1800p to be stable. The only games I know of that allow the selection of larger than native resolution in game (up to 2x your native resolution) are the Arma games. Serious Sam 3 might allow it too. So if you're playing Arma 3 on a 1920x1080 monitor you can select up to 3840x2160 in the graphics options menu, which is a 4k resolution and eats up performance like mad. It looks really nice though.

Alright, huge thanks for the answer. I assumed I'd be able to run it because it doesn't look much different than ATDD. What bothered me about TDD though was that I could run it smoothly on max settings, but on low settings it ran poorly. Just a strange game on my PC.

The 240M supports OpenGL 2.1 so with the latest drivers the game will run but at low settings.

Of course that applies if the pigs use OpenGL 2.1 like Amnesia did. I have not got an answer on that yet though.

it's just that i want to play so many games on my damn computer. I was able to play some... but the best i couldn't (like battlefield or something).

But i'm really not in the position to pay another, what 1000 bucks, for a powerful computer that will eventually be old again...

EDIT: I spent like 500 for the one i have now. should have just saved the money :<

Did you buy a prebuilt/laptop? That's generally more expensive than building one yourself.

Yeh. bought a prebuilt one.

But to be honest, i have no idea how to build a pc. I know the basics like what is for what. But when it gets to choose what is the best and most price efficent i would totally fail and either make a shitty pc or one that is too expensive.

There are a lot of cool tech geeks out there that love to give recommendations based on what you need and what you're able to pay. If you don't have time to read up on what's good and what's not and what works well with what, I'd try to find a nice tech forum with a friendly atmosphere and ask there. Smile
