Retail Box??

I notice right now on steam theres a 20% off pre-order. I want to know if there will be a retail box (physical copy) available.

I would rather pay 20$ for a box copy then 15$ for a digital copy, I also own ever game you people released in box forum already.

RE: Retail Box??

I think they have said several times that there would be no boxed version of the game because it would cost them a lot and be more risky.

Although I do agree with you that I prefer to buy physical copies of my games.

RE: Retail Box??

I normal do not support developers unless there's a retail option (that's including indie devs) on a few rare occasions I will though

with out a retail copy on a single player game only there like zero incentive in buying or supporting said devs

why? im feel exactly like that. A greate example of losing out big is the announcement that July 1st 2014 GFWL will be completely offline. out right AoE online and MS flight will be unuseable. Every game that require GFWL activation will be complete crippled and if not completely, the multiplayer will be perma non-functional. Yes games like Halo 2, bioshock 2, f1 2010/2011 and so on will not work online and quite possible not even activate.

buying music on iTunes and amazon almost feel lifeless. I could have got the same thing for free for the same amount of physical content. (IE paying something for nothing to paying nothing for nothing) buying digital in theory is buying nothing since u could get it for nothing in the long run.

and games like DLC quest a) shouldn't need physical copy and b) should be free by default. a game u can beat in 2 hours with no real effort put into it shouldn't have a price tag at all. I never played paper please so I can't comment on the value of its worth.

games like they bleed pixels should have had a box though.. same with binding of issic and super meat boy. awesome games with nothing to physical show off. kind of depressing. atlest world of goo, defcom, uplink, and other indie games I own were epic in game content and physical content. hell Amnisa was 100% more epic and more valuable since it had a retail box.. kindly sitting in my collection

the only real incentive to pay 4 games like they bleed pixel and other digital sp only games are the steam sales at 50/75% off. At 2.50 USD no ones going to cry over a what is the basically the price of coffee these days

What you can do is download it from HumbleBundle or GOG (it is DRM-free there), then burn your own copy.

They both have boxed versions. The Ultra Rare Edition of Super Meat Boy is especially cool. Smile
