Can't move big objects

I'm trying to play the Overture demo and everything works fine until I get to the underground room - I can't move the larger objects, like the metal shelf and barrels. I can pick up and use all the other objects, like the hammer, flashlight, etc. I tried reducing the screen resolution but that did not help. I'm running OS 10.4.11 on a Mac G5 with an Nvidia GeForce 5200 video card.

You push/drag large objects by grabbing them and moving the character with the walk keys.

Lol, in the demo I tried pushing down that shelf blocking the small cave with a board of wood by wedging it between shelves... I didn't get very far.
