Solved: 8 Years, 1 Month ago Crash on returning to the Water Cave

(Overture, Ubuntu 9.10 32 bit, nvidia). I explored the Water Cave and made my final savegame for yesterday inside it. Today I load this savegame and the game crashes. I tried loading two earlier savegames and simply walking to the Water Cave again, but no luck - the game also crashes! Here's the end of the hpl.log:
Quote:Loading collada for 'maps/level01_08_water_cave.dae' took: 734 ms
CG: 'Fog_Trans_ModX2_fp.cg' using profile: 'fp40'
WARNING: Parent 'group3' couldn't be found! Failed to attach 'artefact01_pointLight1' to 'artefact01'.Attaching directly to mesh.
ERROR: Couldn't create mesh 'wc_box'
I'm attaching the log. The game was running nicely until now and, as I said, I've already managed to enter the Water Cave! What should I do? I don't think I'll be able to finish the game without entering the Cave...

edit: the output in the terminal after the crash contained the following:
Quote:(0) : fatal error C9999: *** exception during compilation ***
Cg compiler terminated due to fatal errorSegmentation fault

edit2: I'm playing the English version of the game; I also ran 'ulimit -c unlimited' as suggested but it didn't help.

edit3: the problem is serious since I just tried loading the "Lead shafts A" autosave, made before I even entered the Water Cave for the first time, and the game still crashes on entering the Water Cave. Reinstall?

edit4: reinstalled. Saves worked fine, I'm in Iron Shafts B already.

Whoa! That's very bad. I had had problems with this disk but thought they were over.
