Exactly, Amnesia will be a 1337 game.

You buy through Steam, not rent.

Try playing your bought single player game, that usually (in retail or from the developers' site) is DRM-free, through Steam without internet connection. Tongue

Which unfortunately doesn't work like it should. I find it funny that you need to update your client on regular basis for the offline mode to work. Its oflinee for a reason, Valve! Angry

But whatever. DRM-free is drm-free, nothing can beat that. Smile

I bought my Penumbra triology via Steam, and I play without Steam. Maybe something like that would be available for Amnesia.
But again, it's always better to have one less program running off.

I don't understand peoples DRM complaints. The only game I have ever had problems with DRM on was Splinter Cell Conviction and even then it was very minor.

Guess you never came across latest Ubisoft DRMs.

Since I have an ATI graphic card, I updated game manually (I didn't wait steam to publish updates), and I saw that exe files don't need Steam running.
Also, Silent Hill: Homecoming's exe file didn't need Steam running. I don't know if Amnesia's exe file will need Steam running. Some doesn't run without Steam, some does.
