Dammit! (in a good way)
Replaying Overture right now... As soon as I opened the shaft and got into the mine, adrenaline started rushing in. Big Grin

I love this game! Heart

By the way, I want to record my playing... Can you recommend me some recording software?

Buy Fraps.

One of the best products I have bought!
(and THE best in game / screen recorder too... Wink)
I use it to record my PC gameplay videos.

Also, I believe you can record videos with Xfire.
I've seen people doing that, and best of all, it's free.

Will check it out. Thanks.

I already have Expression Encoder 4 Screen Capture, but its recording is clearly not for games, as everything I record turns out pretty bad in terms of performance.

By the way, is it okay if I upload the recording to youtube?

Yes.

Since, there are already tons of other videos of Penumbra uploaded to YouTube (and even I made a walkthrough of Overture on my old account), I see no problem.

It's all free marketing for Frictional Games, since they don't need to do anything and if some popular video producer on YouTube makes videos relating to Penumbra, or any other game, it gets noticed and people might get interested about the game and buy it.

That's cool. Smile

I asked mainly because some developers/publishers don't like video walkthroughs of their games, and ask the users to remove the videos.

Most likely it's not the developer. It's the publisher.

And they don't ask you, even if you say to ask it, so that you remove them by yourself (to avoid suspension). They just come and remove the video from your profile and in the worst case, give you "strike" for it. 3 strikes means suspension on YouTube.

Should have an interesting day today. I didn't sleep last night (couldn't sleep), so, no sleep + Penumbra should be an interesting mix. Smile

RE: Dammit! (in a good way)
Done with Overture. I played it all day long, and experienced one really, really shocking moment (I was scared all the way through, but this stands on top of all). After getting out of Shaft 13 (or was it 12, I'm not sure), I knew there was a dog around, but didn't see it. Just as I was turning, it ran in my face and hit / killed me. I jumped off the chair, and shivers crawled all over my body. I quit the game after this, laid down for a hour or two, and continued the game after I woke up.

One of the most realistic feelings I've ever experienced. Smile

I have recorded some Penumbra clips with Xfire and can guarantee that it works well.
