Acid: Blocked Room Script/Toggle

So I made my pot of acid and used it to remove the blockage in the one room. However, I noticed that the chemical pot was still in my inventory so I decided to go back and see if I could make another batch of acide for future use "just in case."

Alas, I was not able to make any additional acid in the laboratory (chemicals are all in place, but I cannot place the pot) so I went back to continue on in the previously blocked room...but the blockage is now back.

I am completely stuck at this point - my single save file has he blockage still intact and I cannot make any additional acid. Are there any solutions to this or did I just get screwed by Frictional's poor coding?

....you should have multiple saves, it's all automagical.
