I think what you are trying to say is that it is a good idea, but unfortunaly the HPL2 engine can't handle it. Right?

Actually, it is quite possible, but it may require an extreme makeover. Smile

Yes, teddifisk, that's what I meant. It's stupid to try to make such project for this engine when there are engines around that are made to handle that.

RE: Amnesia Atlantis

Well it could work as Kyle says, but it would require months of work with modeling and everything.
But as Nemesis says, its better to use another engine that can handle it.

Btw someone else is attempting this, Atlantia!

RE: Amnesia Atlantis

I'm going to have to disagree partially with Nemesis.

It is true that the building aspect might be easier, but the scripting surely is easier and much more open than some editors. ;D

If you don't think this idea is possible or plausible, look at my mod, Atlantia

RE: Amnesia Atlantis

But it may be not the best choice of engine as I wrote before.

There are reasons to stick with this engine, pretty understandable ones, but to be honest I don't understand the purpose of your mod. Maybe you could get a bit of storytelling of it.

You'd surprise me if you came with underwater fiends, or something similar.

I've previously simulated a realistic underwater environment, with some coding, modeling, effects, but you can't compare it(neither you can compare your simulation) to what you could've got using other engine. But as I stated before, there are good reasons you can find to stick to this one, so I don't blame nor judge your decision and that's why if I remember well I wished you good luck.

RE: Amnesia Atlantis

There probably are better engines to use. The reason I use this one is it is the first engine I have ever learned, and I am not a very advanced scripter or anything, so it's simpler for me to use. I also don't have a ton of free time to learn another engine.
Also, I like the gameplay style of Amnesia, so I want to give other Amensia players a unique mod to try out.

I get what you're saying though. HPL3 should be a lot more open when that comes out Smile
