Fog

Maybe this isn't the best way to describe my problem, but I can't seem to figure this out. I'm making an outdoor section to a level, and it's sort of like an intro to the level, you're entering the castle so to speak.

The problem is, I need something to cover the top of the castle walls. I looked through some of the Amnesia main levels, and the "Study" one has that cool outer area. I want to try and make a fog similar to that, covering the top of the map.

But, when I choose my fog (Particles ps_area_fog_large or something like that), it's very small, and I can't figure it out.

If someone can help me, I would like it a lot. It looks pretty cool even without the foggy sky. Smile

RE: Fog

There is a Fog Areas button to the left (ctrl + 1). Wink

RE: Fog

You have to resize it with one of the tools to the right... (resize, move, rotate).

RE: Fog

For some reason, this just doesn't look natural. I've made the fog thing (little cloud icon?) cover the entire top of the map, and it looks weird.

Any more help?

RE: Fog

You should play with the distance settings and the other ones a bit.

Yes that is a nice looking map i still having problems looking for that one thing i need sometimes like i looked for some rugs yesterday for like 10min *brainfart*
it would be nice if you could set your viewing distance to cut out that black sky i see what you mean or add some clouds or something making the outside look good is hard i also have a intro of my castle from the outside you walk into to start

Alright, I'll have to try this. There's a specific setting within the Fog tool for distance right? That stretching tool doesn't seem to work right with fog.

(EDIT) Found my mistakes. There are fog planes that I didnt know about, and the Alpha value of my fog was way too low for it to show. My bad. :3
