So, back on topic.

Anyone know how to make a full conversion mod?
the wiki... isn't very informed about this topic

The hardest part will be finding where and how to add out own key binds, Ideas??

I wonder if you could just copy whatever files you need to change or overwrite into your custom_story folder. Like, say you want to change the model of a lantern into a model of a flashlight. Would it be possible to put the flashlight in custom_stories/modX/ and it would work? That's at least how it worked back in the day with Quake 3 mods.

I wish it was that easy, you have to copy and rename the main_init.cfg file, and put it in a stand alone folder... I've been playing around with it but the game doesn't like it and seems to want to default to the original game, so I'm lost as to what to do.

And the wiki isn't any help, what we need is like a base example we can learn from

TBH, I think it's a bug in the engine, since no.. It really doesn't want to work. :/

Why would they bother making a modable game, if they don't provide decent information?

Seriously guys, Frictional Games almost went broke while developing this game.
They simply didn't have the resources to make it super extreme modable.

Second of all, we should all be happy that they even gave us the map editor, model editor, and what not.
Most game designers, including indie dev's, don't even give us that.

If they can't give us the resources to make a total conversion, then they should't put it in their HPL2 documentation page..

all we need is a base example, then we would have a starting point to work from, at the moment, we are just throwing things in and hoping it works.

For me, the game defaults to the original, even if I use custom .cfg and custom maps, Maybe because its a steam version
