Overture doesn't work, Black Plague sort of, Requiem works perfect

I just bought the Penumbra collection yesterday, after enjoying Amnesia (which worked perfectly), and much to my dismay:

Overture starts with only a black screen and an arrow pointer. I'm forced to restart, and I've tried changing the resolution in the .cfg file, but it didn't seem to do anything.

Black Plague has the intro and title screen, but once I start the actual game, it fades out.

Requiem works just fine.

I'm using Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat on my System 76 Pangolin Performance. If anyone has any idea what is wrong.....please help me.

Can you provide more details on your video card? and can you send the hpl.log files?

I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570. Which part of the folder are the hpl.log files in? I tried searching and couldn't find them anywhere.

look at ~/.frictionalgames/Penumbra/

Also that is where you'll find the "active" settings.cfg files. (the default_settings.cfg is essentially coped over there so changing default_settings.cfg after you initially start the game won't affect any settings)

Changing the resolution in this hidden .cfg files seems to have fixed the problem, and all 3 games are working fine. I just didn't realise that the other .cfg didn't actually change the game settings. So hopefully this is all fixed.
