I'm experiencing the bug where, when you pick up the note for the flashback with the orb in the archives, the screen goes black instead of allowing you to run and collect the orb.

I'm using a Steam version of the game (so it's up to date), my drivers are all up to date, and I wasn't running FRAPS at the time. I tried reloading and redoing the Archives section, this did not help. I tried reinstalling via Steam.

Do I need to restart the entire game? Sad

When Daniel goes "A faint blue shimmer" Hold down W until he says "I tried to grab the orb in my hands" then click.

You sure your gamma isnt too low?

Yes, I'm sure. It's actually too high for "playing the game as it's meant to be played". My video card is fine, because I haven't experienced issues with other games.

Yep, my drivers are up to date.

I'm using:
WinXP Service Pack 3
Nvidia 9400
Quad core

Could multicores cause a problem?

I just wanted to say, that there might be problems with this game although you can run other games just fine, because a lot of other games are using DirectX.
This game is using OpenGL.

Thus it can be you video card. (although I doubt it)

Could be.
But I doubt it.

For the sake of experimenting to find the cause, I suggest playing the game directly before that point at the very lowest graphics settings you can. I know my game had a few issues like this to start with that were fixed by lowering all my graphics settings to minimum.

My Youtube Channel: Check out my channel, it's fairly new, but at least the toilets work!
