Game crashes at profile creation screen

So I get through the introduction just fine, and then when the screen appears to create a player profile, the game is completely unresponsive, forcing me to CTRL+ALT+DEL to get out of it.

This happens regardless of what settings I seem to use.

Have already tried the patch.

Windows 7 64-bit, NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430, DRIVERS ARE UP TO DATE.

Any ideas? I REALLY want to play this game.

I am not sure how to generate a log. Enlighten me?

EDIT: Unless the attached file is what you need. For some crazy reason, this file ended up on the computer opposite of the one that I installed Amnesia on (they're networked together).

Worth mentioning, maybe, that this also occurs in windowed mode and that the task manager lists the program as using up 95% of my CPU.

Do you have a meaty PC? IE do you use it to game a lot? You may just not be able to handle the game. If it's not that it could be a memory leak. You could try updating graphics drivers...

Well I can run Doom 3 just fine on decent quality settings.

Hmm...well on my old PC I could run Doom 3 at decent settings, but that comp struggled with Penumbra. I'm sure Amnesia requires more horsepower...I would suggest updating ur drivers and seeing how that goes.
