Intel Supported Graphics Cards
I don't have one--I have an Nvidia card that doesn't work for no reason. But that's not my point.

Why DOESNT Amnesia support intel graphics cards. A friend of mine got a bunch of money at Best Buy for xmas and I went with him to buy a laptop for moderate gaming and EVERY SINGLE LAPTOP IN THE ENTIRE STORE had an integrated Intel Chip. I told him that he was going to run into trouble, but that's all they had!

So why doesn't a game like Amnesia support such a widespread graphics chip system?

RE: Intel Supported Graphics Cards
What games can you run with an Intel graphic card?
Or should I ask this way, are these Intel Graphic Cards meant to be used in gaming?

Does being widespread mean to be produced for gaming?

But there are probably a lot of folks stuck with Intel Graphics that would love to play Amnesia...I am one.

You're thinking of this completely backwards.

The intel integrated chips do not support Amnesia (or any other game for that matter), not the other way around.

a card that can run amnesia on lowest settings is pretty cheap. you really can't afford any?

I don't believe there is any way to install a graphics card in my laptop. If I could, I would gladly do so. I bought this laptop recently thinking it could play many mainstream games. I am not going to go out and get a new one for a while, but next time I will know better.

On a related note, my laptop seems to have the OEM grahic drivers. Does anyone know if install the latest Intel drivers, which claim to support OpenGL 2.1, would allow Amnesia to run?

Thanks!

I don't believe so, but give it a try.

As far as I know, latest Intel Graphic Cards are able to support the game in terms of hardware; but drivers are very outdated. Maybe bombing Intel with mails will help.

RE: Intel Supported Graphics Cards
There is no such thing as a gaming laptop. You will always have some downside by having a laptop for gaming.

Intel cards can run source games because the development team for source had enough resources to support its lack of capability.

As said before, Integrated cards are not meant for gaming and its not Amnesia supporting them, its the cards not supporting Amnesia.
