Solved: 8 Years, 1 Month ago CPU multi core support

The game does not appear to support multi-core CPU like Intel i7. When I view the CPU usage while the game is running, it shows 100% only (only my 7th core, it's hyper-threaded) and all the other cores are showing 0% usage. Is there a way to enable multi-core support so the game can take full advantage of my processing power? My gpu usage is usually only around 30-40%, running 60FPS, however, I do notice that the stutters slightly shortly after loading a save game...after a bit it seems to sort itself out though and provide a steady framerate, but I still wonder why the stutters happen usually only after loading a save game.

Please help, especially with the multi-core issue.

Thanks!

I think game doesnt need all cores for run.

Only after "loading"... You have SSD or normal HDD? I dont see here any problem.

Hello,

I have an SSD OCZ Vertex 2...shouldn't be any problem with hard drive transfers. My CPU shows 100% usage though on the one core being used, so that should mean that the game could benefit by taking advantage of multiple cores...i could see your point if the CPU usage was less than 100%.

Well... I can now understand your point. One option is turn that HT option off from processor but i think you dont wanna do it Smile

Try put it from Task manager priority from Normal to High if its helps. (But after thinking of this its maybe wont help for that Loading scene) Undecided

didn't help, i think the save game is busted because when i start a brand new game, i don't get the framedrops in those same places...still would be nice if there was a way to have the game support multi cores, like at least 2...it doesnt even support 2 cores, just one which is quite unbelievable for a 2010 game...

so, is there a way to make the game recognize/support more than one CPU? if not, what were you guys thinking in releasing a 2010 game without multiple core cpu support?

Could change the core the process uses in task manager? Assuming the real cores are more powerful than the 7th? Don't know much about the i7's and HT.

One core should be plenty anyway.

I have a AMD Phenom II X3 (3 cores) and checking the task manager I can see Amnesia uses all my cores, each about 30-60%. Not sure what would make it use only your 7th core... maybe be a bug in the game?

Even without HT, it still only uses 1 core, ususally core 1...wonder how it is working on multi-core for you?
