FATAL ERROR: Unable to initialize display

Hi,

every time I try to run Amnesia: The Dark Descent, I got this error:

FATAL ERROR: Unable to initialize display!

Is there any way to solve this?

P.S.: My drivers are all up to date. I found a topic here in the forum, but it's for MAC: Link.

System specs:

Phenom II x4 925;
2GB RAM DDR2;
ATI HD 4650.

Try another resolution as it seems to be a problem using that specific resolution, or try running in window mode just to see if it works.

I've tried almost all the supported resolutions with and without windowed mode. Also, tried with the all possibles configs (low, medium, high), but I got the same error. Please, if you have more ideas tell me. Thank you!

Are you sure you have the latest drivers from ati.com?

Have you tried to change settings in the control panel for the graphics card? Maybe there is something making a conflict, try turning some things off and on. Perhaps like on the Mac there is a energy saving setting conflicting?

Yes, I have the latest drivers... but, now when I tried to open the CCC, it didn't work (even after rebooting). Probably, it's an ATI driver problem. Now, I'll go to work, but tomorrow I will reinstall a new copy of Windows, the drivers and the game and try again. Thank you so much for the help!
