It seems like a similar idea to the turngaiit that had flashlights in Penumbra:Black Plague.

Even though the monsters have demonstrated in game countless times that they are not very bright?

Ah pardon me, you are correct, there is a difference between intelligence and simple understanding of how to work various things

Quote:I think its a very good idea,it would be scary seeing a light move down a dark hallway and know whats holding it! Although it would be very hard to change the animations of the grunt.

Yes, yes it would, it would be very much a heartfelt "Oh Shit!" moment

If you got the Justine update, there should be a .pdf file in the Amnesia root folder called "Remember - Short Story Collection." Give it a read.

It would also make possible the start where you need to stalk Grunt instead and wait that it drops the Lantern or places it somewhere.

It's a great possibility to have the grunt drop the lantern, and when the player picks it up... You know what's going to be right behind poor Daniel.
