Problem fixed nevermind!

Considering I cannot launch the game on my bought version on Steam AND on my recently downloaded torrent version (only to see if it would work), I presume the problem must be (as with many others) some sort of graphics problem. Note that the game worked just fine when I first played it on this computer back in early December, all the way through the January.

I've got an ATI Radeon HD 5450 series graphics card and my drivers are all up-to-date and I have tried everything on the troubleshooting guide (paying particular attention to Section A) to no avail.

So just to describe what exactly happens when I try launching (either running as admin or not), on steam a message appears very briefly saying "Preparing to launch Amnesia: The Dark Descent" and then fades, then nothing. Only the Steam update news pops up, as if I had just quit the game. On the non-steam version absolutely nothing happens. No process or anything.

Is anyone able to help? I'd love to try a speedrun of the game, especially considering I haven't completed the whole thing yet.

Can you try it in Administrator account? Not "run as administrator", login into Administrator account and try to launch the game to see if it's user rights problem.

Good lord it's fixed.

I had no idea that I had to delete the Amnesia file in My Documents so that it could update itself. Gah what a bummer!

Well unless I can close this post myself, you might aswell because it seems fine now.
