So, I want to play this game soooo bad, but it just doesn't seem to run on my computer Sad
I use Intel HD Graphics, might be it, I don't know. My processor is Intel Pentium P6000 1.8GHz and I run a lot of games on it.
I've seen in other threads that posting my hpl.log might help.
I have already updated my drivers...

It's not the latest drivers. I think it should be numbered 2361 in order for you to play Amnesia with this graphic card. Otherwise it's not possible.

Oooh, it's because I went to Acer's website and they had this one as newest.
Sorry for such a dumb question, but how should I search it on Google to find it for download?
It's the driver 2361 for what? Thank you :x

Edit: I think I found it for download just now on Intel's website.
Just wanted to thank mods for such a quick and simple answer, I was hoping for a 2~3 days response, really, nice job guys Smile
I hope I'll be able to play in a few minutes!
Thank you a lot, guys Wink

Ok, so... I tried to install the driver and guess what?
Error: The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer’s manufacturer. Setup will exit.
SO, I went to Intel's FAQ and it told me to download it DIRECTLY from Acer's website, I double-checked it and the newest version for Intel HD Graphics there is version 2104.
So basically I can't play it because Acer is outdated.
I'm very upset about it, but still I thank you because your advice was correct.
I just sent an email to Acer asking for the authorized new drivers, let's see if they will deliver it someday... Sad

Edit: I searched for alternative ways to download it, even though it's not validated, and I found on Intel that if I download the ZIP version of the driver, I might be able to install it (generically) manually.
I'm trying it out now, will come back to tell you if I was successful Smile
Maaaaaaaaan, I'm so upset, theorically the computer installed the new driver, but I didn't believe it.
And still, in the hpl.log it says that I have version 2104 instead of 2361, so I don't know what to do! I reinstalled the game and had no success yet Sad
(Also, I've already rebooted the computer)

Did you manually install it correctly? You have to do that through device manager. Go there, select the graphics card>update driver software and select the extracted .zip file from Intel as the installation directory.

What does dxdiag reports? (run > dxdiag)

Strange, it says there that I have version 8.713.3.3000 Sad
I'm getting pissed off, bro... Yes, I did it correctly, and when I try it again it says that the best driver is already installed...
Driver File Version: 8.15.0010.2104 (English)
Driver Version: 8.713.3.3000

What does this mean?
It means 2361 wasn't installed correctly, yes, but why are there 2 driver things there?
I don't understand these things...
Anyway, I redid all the steps, selected the unzipped folder again and it still said I have the right drivers... Can I uninstall the driver/device for Intel HD Graphics and my computer will still function?
Because I read somewhere that I could uninstall and install the driver again, and maybe that would work out Confused
But I'm scared it will ruin the notebook...

I think I found something at HP which might work for Windows 7 32bit/64bit OS. The driver version is 8.15.10.2372. Try to install that and see if the game works after a restart:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...c=en&lc=en

Previous Answer(if the above does not work again):

Spoiler below!
What we are interested in is this: Driver File Version: 8.15.0010.2104 (English). Leave the other thing, we only need the above line to state 2361 instead of 2104.

Yes, you can uninstall the previous driver through the device manager and then install manually again the .zip extracted driver from Intel. Remember to select that box that says to remove the drivers from the computer as well when uninstalling the previous ones through Device Manager.

EDIT 23/8/2011: I just wrote a guide that might help you out:
