I've been tempted.. and may, but I am progressing.

I have the flashlight fixed and working, just need to fix the clipping issues that users are having on the ATI cards. One thing that would be helpful is locating an ATI x1900 Mac Pro upgrade kit. I can not seem to find anyone that has one in stock or backorderd by a month. And unfortunately it's the only ATI card I can put in my mac pro.

Ok, great news. It's reassuring to know that the port progress, step by step.
Anyway, don't forget, if you can't get an Ati card, you can still use us to test
your fixes…

By the way, the clipping on Ati Card is pretty strange. I've made some experiments on it,
and it results two things : First, it only happens in the bedroom, and secondly, the objects
hidden by this bug appear (but jaggy) when there is an indication over the screen, like text, inventory,
or when we press "r" to show the hand icon… As if the fact that displaying an image like an
icon or the inventory can resolve this bug. Soon, i'll show you some images of the problem with comments.

PS : The Beta download link is dead !
I've now released 1.0679 as a full installer and a patch installer. Please download and test away. (Full notes on the first post of this thread)

TimBioSS: Any debugging you can give me on the ATI issue would be great.
I'm on it, and seeding. Just wait for my experiments…
Ok, sot let's share my experiments, in order to understand the remaining bugs.
This time, I've been using a iMac G5 2Ghz with an Ati Radeon 9600 overclocked (to gain
FPS, and don't worry, it doesn't causes any display problems).

1 - IMPROVEMENTS
This beta is really better : Shadows work perfectly (and it give a whole new
aspect to the game), just as the lighting in general. It also seems more stable. And I noticed some decoration is now displaying correctly (like the net in the bedroom).

2 - REMAINING BUGS
• Some decoration elements are still clipping, only in the bedroom. As I said before, these elements become visible (but are displayed weirdly) when there is an indication on the screen, as icon or text.

• I've noticed some imperfections with lighting
[Image: lightingissues.jpg]

• Motion Blur causes weird stripes. In addition, it's a real power eater…

• Strange physics ? We can carry the cushion from very far. The swing of the lamp in the bedroom is unrealistic (it swings, then it stops, then it swings…). I also seen a flare falling through the ground when I launched it. Otherwise, no problem.

Good luck for resolving these bugs…
Bad News :
Shadows works well on my PPC-based Mac. But they're still blinking
on my Macbook Pro after installing the patch…
Hope this helps... Only problem I had was the "ending" made things lag like hell... Scared me still but it lagged. I've got an NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT DDL...
Just to update everyone, I know have in my possession a Macbook Pro w/ an ATI x1600 which will make it much easier to work on fixing the ATI issues. I also should have an x1900 for the mac pro coming in the mail. (though now w/ the macbook pro I don't really need it anymore Sad )

Anyways, I will hopefully have an updated demo next week sometime.

What are the specs on your system? (CPU speed)

That seems odd that you card doesn't support the FP 40 profile.. it should.. Are you sure you have the latest updates installed for you mac? Also, PPC or Intel? (I guess I should add that info to the log file Smile )
