My budget didn't allow me to buy any external graphic cards, i'm simply relying on the sandybridge intergrated graphics till I actually can (would be an asus ATi radeon HD 6950 2GB GDDR5), I uninstalled openAL to remove other kind of error, and I thought it could've been tune up utilities. nothing helps, I use mcafee could that bugging my game?
well mcafee isn't the problem either.
Well normally this card should work with the latest Intel drivers and the latest game update (v1.2). I don't know what's wrong, maybe a corrupted driver. Can you run other games?
Try a Penumbra game demo and see if this works by the way...
strange, now even my penumbra games are messed up (overture, black plague, and requiem) all effects work, like fade in, fade out and sound. but all the other graphics are like a TV snow (the black bars in the screenshot are 'cause I was just out of the intro story)
quick question, how badly is openAL software needed for these games?
It is needed so make sure you have it installed. But since it happens everywhere I guess that the graphics card is not working properly or the driver is corrupt.
In a way I'm going to restore my my windows 7 from the beginning. also to make it a bit faster again. maybe that would clear the possible corrupted driver stuff. (with MSI control centre I overclocked it from x22 to x30 making it from 1100Mhz to 1500Mhz. could that be bugging it?)
Format your computer since you want it and disable any overclock to the cpu,memory or graphics card for better stability.
I changed the HDD setting from IDE to AHCI just to be sure. reinstalled windows 7, also repartitioned the disk. installed newest drivers. and it fixed the problem. even fixed a problem I had with a different game.

No, but if you have a Logitech controller, you can use the Logitech Profiler to inject controller support. It works great for most things, except where precision is needed (e.g. menu items).
