This is cool lighting, but the maps themselves are completely empty. It needs furniture at least.
Also the second one, the billboard looks a little weird, it doesn't look like it's coming from the light, it just looks like it's hanging there.

True, things look way different in the Level Editor. Thank you, I'll change it Smile

By the moment the first screenie is from a map in construction, I'll add details, don't worry Wink

About artificial lighting: Way too dark. I suggest that if you are really going to leave the player with no lantern, you make sure to lit up the maps really well. Candles, light bulbs, sun, whatever. Get sure, or the player won't know what direction to take.

PD: What anime is your avatar from?

endosine: Things clear: I'm getting a lot of light from my window and my screen isn't the brightest, but I'd say it's way too dark. I'd make the lights a bit brighter.
Alright I'll work on making it brighter. The hallway is exceptionally small to give it a cramped apartment feel, so there's no room for candles really.

And it's from Toradora.

EDIT: I tried 3 different lighting types, I think I like the one without fog the best

The second looks really nice, but there's a thing that bugs me though: Inside the corridor there is no light emmiter, but the doors shine... is it a bug?
I have 2 spotlights going through the hallway. I haven't decided what's making the light yet, but I'm just experimenting with it cause I'm trying to make a story without a lantern.
You can make a story without a lantern pretty easily - but if you're using the dark approach, you'll have to stick with dark blues/purples.

Then Robosprog can come around and say "Now add some candles and orange lights" because it contrasts, which helps make a more effective screenshot.

All in all - you'll need light sources of some sort - candles, windows, lamps, overhead lights, skylights - you'll need something. Human eyes adjust to the darkness after long exposure - but we are still guided by the limited light available. If you want, toy around with one of the models, then stick it in the ceiling of your setting, then have it emit little to no light, but enough. Just make sure it matches the room, so it doesn't look out of place.

Any thoughts and any suggestions for main menu music?

Fuck, sorry about that, I'll post a brighter one shortly.
EDIT:Better?

On top of that, particles. More light dust! The model's texture is pretty dirty, and you have a great excuse to spam light dust and other particles! You've done it a tad I believe, so keep on with that kind of theme and it should look a bit busier and, in my opinion, better!

Also.
You bastard.

Do mean the light to the third light right -> or the street light on the top? Also I can't really decide which music to play in the menu. Some suggestions from you guys could help!
so i broke my foot and have a few days of downtime while i heal and i kinda wanna make something

Is that even a question?

Hurry up and make something :D
