Hi guys, I haven't really started on the level editor and scripting just yet, but I am curious. Familiarity ruins horror games, you can't play through them again and truly experience the unknown, you expect certain events, even though they still make me jump and give me chills. But what about people who mod the game, test play their own game countless upon countless times, playtesting scare scripts, does it take away the fear? Maybe from your own game since you expect everything to happen, but even others, when you know how the brutes and grunts work, and events? Even from the main game itself, I've learned to be cautious when picking up key items as it usually triggers a grunt to appear somewhere nearby.
I have been modding for months, and I'm still too afraid to play the main campaign : D

I'm glad to hear! haha. I've played through the main campaign twice now, and White Night, and still hoping to get fresh frights from other people's mods. Big Grin
For me, unfortunately, it sort of does. In my case, I had to learn many aspects of the HPL2 engine to familiarize myself with it and, in the process, I sort of learned the mechanics of the game. The only thing that really bothers me is that, if I'm in the mood to mod something, I can't fully enjoy any custom story/conversion because I'm always wondering "how did they manage to do that?" or "how could I improve on that?". Don't worry though, if this happens to you, you will still be scared shitless when you play the game Smile.
Yeah I can imagine. I really hope Frictional Games continues to make horror games.
Just wait a year, then come back. That tends to undo things.

Yeah, they are being pretty discrete about it though. Check this out. You can see their channel for more videos like that.
Oh my freaking goodness. Grass! But anyway I'm super happy to know a new game is in the works. I am officially addicted to Frictional Games.
