Is anyone aware that Minecraft also made it to number 5 on machinama's top ten ftw indie games? I dunno, I just thought it was cool, not nearly as significant as being in guiness world records or anything...

OBJECTION!

I think Minecraft is crap! Let the flame wars begin!

Flaming/trolling is never cool. I don't give a fuck if you don't like Minecraft, but if you insist on discussing that, at least come with some decent arguments for your views, and we can discuss it properly. Here, I'll start. I think Minecraft is objectively a pretty well-crafted game (holy fuck, worst pun, I'm so sorry), especially considering it was originally a one-man project by a self-taught swede. Personally, I enjoy it very much as both an outlet of creativity and a rather fun adventuring game. Also, exploring all these generated landscapes and vast caverns can be both exhilarating and beautiful, in my opinion. It is in no way perfect, but what is perfect anyway? I think it definitely deserves the spot it got, even though I love Amnesia. It is also, as many here have mentioned before me, a great victory for the indie game industry to have two games on the top of the list.
Puzzled me how Starcraft 2 got #1. It got little hype from the beginning and I don't know anyone who has played it which is strange if it's so good. Well done to it for that though.

Look, good job writing a paragraph response based on one sentence and all, but... seriously. Sarcasm, bro?

What sarcasm are you talking about? Did you even read his post...

The sarcasm contained within A Luna's post.

Of course he was sarcastic! So was I. I knew he wasn't serious. That is why I wrote that paragraph response, making sure that all my arguments were sound and that it came across as dead serious. If it didn't come across as serious, the irony would be gone. There are multiple layers of irony at work here, as it seems that I am serious, yet it is intended to be ironic. Still, I mean every word. And, as was my intention, people took it at face value. If they hadn't, it wouldn't have been any fun.

Most of the promised features for minecraft were not present and so many useless features were added, like the shitty "ending", AI villagers that don't do anything etc.

One step in the right direction was to change the lead developer, since all notch did was wank off to creepers and take vacations.

It's a game that doesn't deserve it's success, it's just an average indie game (what's also pretty badly coded). They don't deserve those millions they got from making a block breaking game. And it being called #2 best PC game of all time is just sad.

This list is shit in general, PC has got a wide library of games which have more quality than most of it.

Also what the hell is plain sight doing in that list ? It's shit, you're some little ninja robot who kills other ninja robots in some outer space kind of thing.
Arvuti, all you do is rage. I'm not sure what types of games you tend to play but you're pushing that border in my mind that is leading me to believe you wank to games like Call of Duty. Me personally, am addicted to Minecraft. For an indie game that is so simple, yet done so well by someone who learned coding ALL ON HIS OWN, it deserves what it has gotten. Can you code that? Nope! Probably not. And yes, AI villagers are dumb, but you don't play the game for them! You play to build and survive. The reason it is so popular is because it's simple and vast. I believe it deserves every cent it has, as well as Amnesia, for two indie developers to be in the top 3 fascinates me and brings me hope. I would play Minecraft before Skyrim any day, I'm sorry. But games are games and the more FUN it is than challenging, the better. Though some times I do like a challenge. Also, Minecraft is DESIGNED to be blocks with a 16bit layout. One, It needs to process THOUSANDS of blocks each second and render random environments. Two, it adds to the theme. Not every game has to have mind-blowing fireworks to blow apart your IQ.

Stop being such a hormonal 15 year old and contain your rage. You take things way too seriously. And please respect the indies, Thank you.
He was a bit blunt, but right.

Minecraft for me was incredibly fulfilling and fun at first, but nowadays I can't even play it for more than thirty minutes without getting bored because I've pretty much done everything. I would say it is 105% definitely worth the low cost though.

How is he right?

He stated an opinion as a fact, same as you are doing now

I'll admit recognizing sarcasm sometimes isn't really my strong suit
