Greetings, FricFans.

If you're reading this, I take it it's because Amnesia the Dark Descent scared you shitless. And because you've already proven you're above average interested in the game, I hope you're self-conscious and bored enough to answer some questions I have! I'm currently developing a game wich to some degree is inspired by Amnesia - however, some extra arcade and exploration-factors are being thrown into the mix.

Therefore, I'm highly interested in hearing what people that aren't me or any of my friends got scared of in Amnesia - or any other game!
Three words: Fear of fear.

This is much more powerful than fear itself.
Fearception

I'd say athmosphere and imagination. Smile
Fear of discovering unknown, large spaces which you expect is swarming with monsters. The worst part is the lack of them.
Being helpless, the audio, atmosphere, and simple FUCKING WITH YOUR HEAD is what did it with me, Amnesia is deliciously pychological
*Patiently awaits J.R.S.Storch to make some deeply intellectual comment that will make this ---> | | much sense to me.*
I agree with Kman.

The game also does something with you, whenever i play Amnesia, then i'm almost feeling what Daniel feels. The fear of finding a monster noticing you.
I don't agree with Kman.
Love the response!! It's really hard to define the cause of a feeling - and even harder to be that cause. My hat is tipped to Frictional Games.
I like how with this game, if played seriously, you can be scared almost constantly. I can bet some people will play Amnesia rushing it for the sake of it and say "All of you are pussies" or some other insult to fans.

Unlike most horror games, Amnesia lets you know that something is there and lets your imagination do the rest. The atmosphere is terrorfying and at times will make you panic on a simple decision which may lead to worse concequences.

To sum it up, I dread playing FG Games which is probably why they're so great.
