Speaking about sound...did you guys actually add the microphone idea? When you speak, monsters can hear you.

Thanks for the info mate, extremely excited to hear what you've done!

It is, to put it nicely, a terrible idea.
Neat! However, I'm kinda hoping you kept the original terror meter. That sound alone installs an instant, awful horror in me... which is a pretty powerful thing to have at a game developer's disposal.

The game will run in surround but the assets themselves have been designed for a 2 channel stereo setup. This means that whilst 3D sounds will pan to rear speakers, the ambience and non 3D sounds will only play in stereo.
The game will absolutely be best enjoyed with a good 2.1 setup or some nice headphones.
I actually have a pair of "Roccat Kave" 5.1 headphones - which I bought to further my own experiments regarding positional audio as I don't have the space for a full 5.1 setup at home anymore due to kids... The Dark Descent plays extremely well on them, so I have no doubt Pigs will sound just as good. I'm pretty sure the Sound Blaster X-fi drivers will let me drop output in to 2.1 - so I *should* be good.
I guess it's a little sad that you've had to stick with stereo - but I can totally understand why. The majority of gamers do use stereo headphones or speakers - so respect is due for basically polishing the hell out of the experience for 95% of your player base. From the sounds in the trailer I'm certain those 2700 ogg files will be making my gut tense up once again regardless of the sound system in use!
edit: Also +1 for the original Terror meter. If you've managed to make a sound more nausea inducing than that, you are a truly terrifying person. Actually experienced light headedness during TDDs chase segments due to the stress that bloody sound caused

Haha yeah it would!
But good Let's Players (should) know when it's best too keep their mouth shut and when it's time to spice things up with a bit of commentary anyway.
