Hey guys.

Windows 7 Ultimate, 1gb RAM.
I have a "Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family" which cannot run Amnesia. Fatal Error #0, our good old friend.

Now I've tried basically everything out there about updating and all since I really wanted to play the game, but the Demo just won't run. I wanted to ask if Amnesia would run on Linux with the same Graphic Card and specs? If yes would it run smoothly with a good fps rate? Since some people said that it might run on Linux.

Sorry if it's been answered already, really would like to try the game out! Smile

Linux is a general term.. there are hundreds of distros... what are you using?
According to this page, the chipset only supports up to OpenGL 1.5. OpenGL support of at least 2.1 is required to run the game. The chipset may be too old even for the open-source community to help.

That wouldn't really matter, since you'd be able to compile against the X server's source code and libraries available by the distro, if the chipset support is there.
^Regardless it is pretty important to know which one.

I'm on Windows right now. My question is if any of them would be able to run it? And if yeah, which? :\

How about Mobile Intel 4 Express Chipset Family? Can that run Amnesia in any case? Or all hope is lost (since I own a laptop :\)

Mobile IntelĀ® 965 Express Chipset Family - No for any platform.
Mobile Intel 4 Express Chipset Family - Yes should work for Linux. But is below the specified requierments to run the game, so in best case performance is not so good or in worst case the game will not run at all.

Thank you very much for the help Smile.

Which version of Linux should I use? Has anyone managed to run the game with Intel 4 Exp Chipset Family?

Doesn't help much, I've already tried 3d analyzer.

I am using Ubuntu 11.10 and I am able to run all of the Penumbra games and the Amnesia game. I use wine with Playonlinux (front end for wine) and it works fine.

My specs.

OS: Windows 7 (64bits) & Ubuntu 11.10 (64bits)
AMD Phenom II X4 955 @3.20 GHz
8 gb ddr3
Nvidia GeForce GT430
3TB combined harddrive space

You don't need Wine to play those games (unless the only copy you have of those games is on Steam).
