Hi all. I just completed this game on GameTap and it bears an uncanny resemblance to Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth (Xbox/PC.) Did anyone that worked on Penumbra also work on that game? Or at least play it? Because Penumbra seems like a lower budget version of that game, almost to a 'T' (not that this is a bad thing by any means as CoC is a vastly underrated game.)
None of the team members worked on CoC, but both Penumbra and CoC are inspired by H.P lovecraft's stories (in fact, penumbra's engine is called HPL) so you'll probably notice some similarities.
Wrong place to post this Thread. This supposed to be in Off-Topic!

But I guess, that someone is playing! Read This! Wink

Yes, I played both because I knew both were inspired by HPL, but the similarities are still absolutely uncanny.

It's funny, but I did a search for Dark Corners of the Earth and got *pages* of hits and none of the, led me to that thread (because I gave up after the first few pages.)
Strange.. i always thougt Penumbra had some Thief-like touch.. do you know this game? The sneaking ability and the style of the intro movie reminded me of The dark Project Wink
I loved this game Big Grin
