Hey everyone.

I have decided to try and make my own custom story for Amnesia, and it's been a nightmare so far. Nothing has gone according to plan, I cannot find the right videos and tutorials.

My main problem, is I need the HPL LevelEditor.Exe but it will not work. I am currently using the steam version of Amnesia by the way.

I using Google Chrome on Windows 7, and have downloaded the Windows HPL Editor Suite about 4 times, from the friction wiki. Every single time, I open it by itself, or try to extract it into the Amnesia folder, I get the message:

"Zip CRC failed in LevelEditor.exe The file is corrupt" etc.

I have tried re-installing 4 times, same message, I have tried install on a different browser, same problem, and I cannot find any other answers online.

Why does it keep saying the same message over and over? Thanks for reading.

try another browser and disable any downloaders like getright etc...

Try to extracting all files Into the This location.
Program Files (x84)/Program Files > Steam > Steamapps > common > amnesia the dark descent

Drag all files into the amnesia the dark descent folder.

I have tried that, but it doesn't work, and I think that is for a different error. When I download the File with the Level editor and other files and folders in, it still has the same problem. Immidently says the file is corrupt, but only the Level Editor suite.exe which has the problem.

If I try and open it, I get the message. And if I copy the files into the Amnesia folder, I get the same error message saying it cannot be extracted.

Where are you downloading the tools at?

What are you extracting the files with?
Unless it was changed from a .zip file

also disable any antiviruses (they shouldn't conflict though unless they are useless)

The anti virus thing didn't work.

I just decided to go on my other computer and copy the files over instead. Now I have the files, and they are all working, and the Amnesia level editor is working normally.
