I have this story in my head that I would like some point of views on.

The story starts out with you and some friends that have decided to visit an old mansion/castle in your town which used to belong to Mr.[Insert Name] and his wife and young daughter (both of which died of tuberculosis). Mr [Insert Name] moved away a couple of years later after the death of his wife and child, leaving his research behind. He was researching the human psyche of feelings. Wether these could be controlled or not. It will also include some theories from Jeremy Bentham, Voltaire, John Stuart Mill and such philosophers

You begin just after a door slammed shut behind you, leaving you separated from your friends (This will however not have that much of an impact on the story itself). You basically go through the castle witnessing events, reading notes, listening to phonograph recordings and finding the key to the door.

Some questions that I hope to be implemented in the story:
- What is true happiness?
- Is mankind as free as we see it?
- What is right and wrong from a ethnic point of view?
- What is pleasure and what is pain?

P.S. It will not contain any physical monsters. This is a crucial point according for me since the monsters from Amnesia aren't that scary anymore and doesn't fit in in this CS.

Looks okay. All that's left is to make good maps. Good luck. Wink

I'll see if I can posts some pics of the maps.

No, please don't. I don't want anything spoiled until I play the story.

Human mind is quite brittle... story about that would be very nice.
It will be a while before it is finished, bout 75% done in mapping, then I have scripting and notes.

The backstory can always be changed.

- What is true happiness? There is no true happiness. We have moments of happiness that always last less than the non Happy moments.

- Is mankind as free as we see it? Nobodies sees mankind as free because it just isn't.

- What is right and wrong from a ethnic point of view? There's no right or wrong, that's an idea that you or your parents build on yourself.

- What is pleasure and what is pain? That depends on what kind of chemical reactions are happening in your body.

As you can see, none of these question have really that much to think about.
I'll try explaining my view of the questions without spoiling the story.

The pain and pleasure question you answer very scientifically. There is alot of philopsphy behind such as the pleasure-factor (as I like to call it) which is about how pleasure can become pain and vice versa.

The moral question. You are right that there is no right or wrong, but what is it that makes you and your parents see it that way.

Lots of people see mankind as free. I would say that the majority of liberal thinkers see mankind as free.

P.S. I should point out that these were just examples. I haven't made up my mind yet on what the questions will be, but they will be about these subjects.
