If you haven't noticed, this mod is developed by creative and talented people.
is it blasphemy to have 1 jumpscare into this holy sacrilegious custom story?

Jumpscares are generally frowned upon with good reason. Do you think Amnesia:TDD had a lot of jumpscares? No. It didn't get it's reputation as one of the scariest games of all time through such methods. It's based on subtlety; small details in the environment such as sound and visuals that are capable of building up so much tension the player simply doesn't want to continue. Subtlety is engaging, and if done properly, mind-numbingly terrifying. Many of the modern methods "jumpscares" are best described as "fun", which is a word that doesn't belong even remotely near the horror genre.

Don't get me wrong, this doesn't mean that there should be no jumpscares ever, but most people are so lazy and unoriginal when it comes to scripting them they either are just loud noises or visual abominations that make no sense whatsoever.

i know what you mean... most people add jumpscares with no follow up... just a poor naked man that can't afford clothes, flying across the room. i enjoy the jumpscares when they are applicable in stories. i am just not sure if people hate them in general or they are just tired of the same ones that do nothing other then add 5 secs of increased blood pressure.
Yes, there will probably be a few jumpscares. There will be a lot of moody atmosphere as well, beautiful environments and cool voiceacting by Traggey.

In answer to your question it's not that people dislike jumpscares, it's just that people dislike bad modding - which in most cases go hand in hand with an abundance of jumpscares.

I'm sorry what? This mod will not feature cheap crappy jumpscares.

Please go to the memethread if you feel like posting stuff like that.

Ah yeah the textures I just paint in photoshop, takes practise and I'm still nowhere near good enough to work on anything bigger than this as of yet. The way I've chosen to do handpainted textures if very much inspired by Warcraft 3, that's where I started modding many years ago and I've taken a liking to the style.

This is the texture if anyone's interested.

I can definitely see the Warcraft elements in it, well done Traggey, I think you've hit the style perfectly! At least, to my untrained eye :p
