Frictional Games Forum (read-only)

I recently bought Amnesia in the Humble Bundle, and I've only just brought up the courage to play it, and I'm using Steam to launch it but when i go to play it, the launcher says "Preparing to launch Amnesia: The Dark Descent" but only shows for a second then keeps appearing for 1 second increments and Amnesia won't load....

I've tried looking at troubleshooting everything, I have:

• Verified the game files
• Turned AVG firewall off
• Re-installed it
• Closing all windows and background applications
  

but nothing is working... I really want to play it but It won't let me Thanks in advance
P.s. It doesn't stop trying to launch unless I grab the launcher :/

This is a problem with steam and not actually amnesia, deleting your steams .blob file or simple restarting usually solves this.
