The problem is as following: Even though i run the gamma "bar" up and down, the actual gamma of the game, is as if it was stuck at 1.
Example: I move the bar to a gamma value of 2.0, then the screen becomes as bright as if the value was 2.0 for half a sec, then quickly switches back to a dark screen, with the gamma equal to the value of 1.0, however the "bar" is still at 2.0.

I can change EVERY other setting of the game, it is only the gamma value that is unchangable.

I have tried running full screen and window mode, none of them make a difference.

My GFX card is an nVidia GTX 560
It could have something with the monitor or the graphic card settings to do, seeing as it has to be the problem since you put the gamma up and down in-game.

I am 100% sure that the problem isn't concerning my monitor, since it has run Amnesia on an earlier PC with absolutely 0 problems.

for TS: I think the problem consists of the game not working properly with my GTX 560. Have any technical supporters/other people from Frictional Games ever heard of anything like this?
I run it with no flaws on a GTX 470, no reason it wouldn't work with the 560.
GTX 460 here, everything well with a 1920x1200 monitor. Maybe some application interfere or the nvidia control panel is set to change the settings on it own.

Nope, I made sure every setting in the nVidia control panel was set to "Applications use their own color settings."
after that happens, attach hpl.log (might not help though in this case...)
