hi, im very interested of making my own monsters, but i cant seem to find any guides on youtube, i know many of you guys here know this stuff, can anyone of you help me out?
You need to have a 3d program like autodesk 3ds max, or autodesk Maya, or Blender, or any other 3d program to be able to make models or 3d characters

okay, witch one do u recommend?
Another thread in the wrong forum sub-section.

I recommend registering as a student on the Autodesk website and either downloading 3DS Max or Maya 2011 (NOT 2012 or 2013). I use Maya and it works great. But using either is more of a preference. Maya is a bit better with animations and exporting them, but both basically do the same when it comes to models, again, it's all preference really.
I like to use 3ds max because I find it easier to use, I find it more user friendly personally, but like Statyk it really is preference for which one you are more comfortable with.
I use 3D's max aswell, I find it way more comfortable to work with, however if you're going to start modeling only because of Amnesia I suggest you use Maya, the animation tools and such are pretty much the same, however 3D's max has exporting problems that we have currently not found a way to work around, so it would be way more simple to start using Maya if you're just doing it for Amnesia.

If not, then I suggest you register for an Autodesk student license and try out both Maya and Max, I'd suggest you stay as far away from Blender as you possibly can.

'cuz blender is not the way to go.
Blender works fine with the exception of armatures (though, this should change in HPL3). Then again, none of my animations have been working the way i want them to, no matter how many times i redo and export, from Maya.
