Take another stab at teachers like that is going to help anything...
Um. Having gone to public school for many years of my life I would have to agree that that's a legitimate reason, and not just because of the teachers.
^My mom (and my dad used to) both worked as high school teachers and when people go around making remarks about stuff like that people tend to get annoyed after a while/
I can understand why you'd be annoyed then, but it is the truth. With that said though, I've also had some really amazing teachers in public school, so by no means do I mean "All teachers that work at public schools are terrible".
It may just be in America, but I further developed my "Grammar Nazi" brain while under the guidance of public school teachers. If your paper had grammatical and structural errors, you were docked points.

I'd like to attribute terrible typing to the general stupidity of the human population.
I almost always associate bad spelling and grammar (especially lack of capitalization) to immaturity, so yes, I would blame it on the children.

I wouldn't say that's completely correct, one of the most immature people I know uses almost perfect grammar (and feels the need to make sure everyone else does, too).
I don't know... maybe because it's just how we communicate quickly via text without taking the patience to check the spelling and grammar.
That's an easy one.
People who are new to typing/ lazy.

But it makes sense in online multiplayer, especially in FPS games. Generally you don't want to do any typing apart from the courtesy "gg" at the end of each round but if you need to issue a general command to someone or just chat with people when things aren't too hectic, you want to spend as little time as possible typing. It's no excuse for using broken language, but things like no punctuation, all lowercase characters and acceptable abbreviations should be alright.
I agree with the technology these days. Everyone gets used to saying "lol leik ok ill see u l8er" we use it as a faster way to communicate but end up looking like uneducated fools.
I was curious as to how many words I could type a minute with correct grammar and only got 49. :] I'm not very good at copying things, but when it comes from my brain I'm faster.
